MISSION STATEMENT

The mission of the Fairfield Community School Board of Directors is to support students, staff, administrative team and teachers of the Fairfield Community School District in preparing all students to be lifelong learners through participation in a comprehensive educational program characterized by mutual respect, the pursuit of excellence, personalized instruction, a challenging and diverse curriculum, and a safe, healthy environment.

MEETINGS

The Board of Education typically meets on the third Monday of the month at 6:30 p.m. in the board room of the ACT Center. Special meetings are also called when necessary.

All meeting notices and board agendas are posted in advance, here on our website. Special provisions apply in the case of an emergency meeting.

Minutes are recorded by the board secretary and represent official actions taken by the board, but do not include verbatim transcripts of conversations and discussions from each meeting. Minutes are posted on our website.

PUBLIC PARTICIPATION

We welcome you to our school board meetings. Whether you come as a spectator or to participate, we look forward to your involvement. All regular meetings are open to the public. Individuals or groups wishing to place an item on the agenda should contact Superintendent, Laure Noll, or Board Secretary/Business Manager, Robin Leonard. To be included on the regular meeting agenda, a request must be received no later than ___ calendar days prior to the meeting. BOARD MEMBERS

The Fairfield Community School District has a seven-member board of directors. Each member must be an eligible voter in the district and is elected for a term of three years. The school board represents the people of the district and functions as a policy-making body.

The Superintendent of schools acts as the executive officer for the school board and carries out the policies, plans and administrative details necessary to ensure that all policies formulated by the board are made effective in the operation of the schools.

Board of Education officers for 2021-22 school year are: President, Christi Welsh and Vice-President, Tim Bower. Additional Board of Education members for 2021-22 school year are: John McKerley, Tai Ward, Kelly Scott, Mark Porter and Margo VonStrohuber.
